General Information
This feature is a very popular and cost effective way to introduce water into
the garden. It is also child friendly as there is no water or pumps visible
(except the fountain itself).
Fountainheads come in many different styles and there are a variety of textures, colours and shapes of cobbles to choose from, enabling the customer to make the feature their own.
Prices shown are only a guide and are based on a feature made with 100mm Cornish cobbles and 20mm mixed colour pebbles with a 'bubbling' fountain. Should any other cobbles, stones or fountains be required, please ask.
Construction
These features are constructed using a geotextile underlay and butyl rubber
liner for the sump. The pump is placed in the sump, which is then covered with a
galvanised metal mesh, supported by plastic supports. Bidim is then laid around
the sump (to keep weeds down) and cobbles/pebbles laid on top.
The fountainhead pokes out of the cobbles around 2/3" but the surface of water in the sump is completely covered by cobbles and cannot be seen.
